Artizen Homes is a Melbourne-based builder specialising in custom-designed homes, dual occupancy, and multi-unit developments, with a particular expertise in designing and constructing high-quality, purpose-built rooming houses. A home that provided the owner with tranquility and open spaces was at the forefront of their mind.
When they first hired me, it was for their name creation. After submitting multiple ideas, merging Artisan (A skilled craft worker) and Zen (Japanese ‘meditation’) was the perfect fit. Designing their logo was next in line. Strong in yin and yang symbology, it illustrates the home above, flowing with the raked sands below.
The colour palette of light grey, black, cream and gold came naturally, as well as the typography pairing a contemporary serif for headings and a clean san serif for body copy. I worked with Cooley Copy on their brand voice, as a soothing, welcoming tone was important to their brand. I also designed their stationery, website, promotional brochure and look books with clean edges and white space.
