The Victorian Magistrates Association Incorporated (VMAI) entrusted me to design their new logo and brand.
I decided to take a bold and contemporary approach by playing with the negative space of a stylised map of Victoria combined with the Scales of Justice. This logo concept won them over and has since been used on diary covers and uniform embroidery.
Traditionally used to symbolise both wisdom and knowledge, shades of purple frequently appear in the colour palettes and branding of organisations and businesses affiliated with the law and legal matters.
I paired a deep violet with the simple black and white of judicial robes. Together, these three colours work in harmony and reinforce the image of a professional organisation that represents elite legal professionals.
